Young leaves are used raw or cooked as seasoning. Having a hot spicy flavour they are a useful addition to salads. Also known as Uplands Cress, easy to grow, slow bolting. Can be cropped all year if autumn sowings are given protection through winter (cloches). Sow Spring to September in situ, successional sowings for continual cropping, position full sun for winter crops, while partial shade is best for summer crops.
