Poisonous. Habitat hedgerow and woodland, known as the herb of the witches. A narcotic herb, best sown early spring in a cool house / cold frame due to seed prone to attack by insects. Can be sown in situ early spring. Slow to germinate can take up to 6 months. Grow in full sun to partial shade in moist but well drained alkaline soil
