Stevia Candy grows up to 1m and is a larger leaved selection of the species S.rebaudiana. HISTORY of the plant uses outside Europe and the UK, for hundreds of years the leaves have been used in Brazil and Paraguay as a sweetener. The Guarani Indians of Paraguay call it 'Kaa jhee' and have used it to sweeten other medicinal teas and foods (in Paraguay) as well as use it medicinally as a hypoglycaemic, hypotensive, diuretic and for obesity, hypertension, heartburn, and help lower uric acid levels, as a tonic used in cases of diabetes, hypertension and high blood pressure, as well as a cardio tonic. For medicinal purposes seek professional advice in all cases prior to using Stevia Rebaudiana. Germination slow and erratic.
