Reddish flowers on a solitary knobbled flower head. A flower of the old meadows. Found in dry and damp grasslands, sand dunes and old meadows which are few and far between nowadays. Source of food for insects, bees and butterflies. Used to be used for herbal medicine. Perennial wildflower. Hgt 30 - 180cm Flowers June to September
