Self heal is a small perennial with blue-violet flowers appearing during summer at the top of the stems. Has a long history as a Chinese medicinal herb, known mainly as a wound herb in Europe. Medicinal uses include treatment for wounds, cuts, bruises, sores, ulcers, diarrhea and fevers. Culinary uses include salads, stews, casseroles and soups and a drink can be made from the leaves.
