Chinese Wolfberry - Lycium barbarum
Chinese Culinary herb, medicinal herb, oriental vegetable and recently the popular superfood. Goji Berry are used to strengthen muscles and bone, liver function and to improve vision. Increases white blood cell counts and stimulates tissue development. Young leaves and shoots are popular as cooked greens in Canton. Goji berries can be cooked or eaten raw as a snack or added to soups and stews.
Sow spring or Aug to Oct cover with a fine layer of compost germinate at 20-24C, easy to germinate protect plants during first winter and plant out 1m apart after last frosts following year when ground has warmed up.
