Wide, long flat leaves with a delicate garlic flavour. In their second year they have attractive white flowers during summer. Flower stalks in bud are sold as Goy Choy in Chinese stores. Widely used in Chinese Cuisine in stews, pancakes, dumplings, soups, stir fries etc. Also grown for their ornamental value as fresh or dried flowers
Direct sow 6mm deep during spring, the optimum germinating temperature is 20C. Autumn sown seeds should be over wintered and planted out the following spring. Height 30 to 45cm. 90 days
