Basic Information
Vicia faba Basic Sowing information: Sow seed in situ 7cm deep 23cm apart each way. Can be grown in double rows, allow minimum 60cm between rows. Keep the plants weed free and well watered. Prefer rich, fertile soil. Harvest June to September. Pinch out the tops (these may be cooked) after 5 flowers have formed this will help to deter black fly and encourage side shoots.
