Palm Seeds and Cycad Seeds

 





Palm Tree Seeds. Palm trees are suitable for growing outdoors in warmer climates, or in cooler climates as young plants indoors in the conservatory, greenhouse, house plant or as patio plant bringing indoors for protection during the cooler months. Palm seeds can take several months to germinate please do not discard the trays too early. Palm Tree seeds Pre soak for minimum 12 hours and sow at  25+ șC (top of airing cupboard) placed in a zip seal bag in moist not wet growing media, Fungicide treatment is recommended to prevent mould and damping off. Experience in seed germination is recommended. The cultural information should be used as a guide only, I have found a number of different sowing techniques for the same seed from different sources there does not seem to be a standard. With this in mind you should use this website as a guide only, you probably already have a tried and tested way of sowing different seeds. As a rule of thumb the larger the seed size the more cover it requires, but cycad and palm seeds require sowing on or just below the surface, and fine seed like Lobelia Begonia etc requires no cover.
