Carnation Growing Guide

Carnation Mini Spice Mixed Recommended
Mini Spice is an early dwarf Pot Carnation but also performs well in borders and beds, having strong basal branching. The mixture is a blend of several colours including reds, whites, yellows, coral, crimson, scarlet and blush with some being extra fragrant, especially the white and red. Flowers in May from a September sowing and June/July from a January/February sowing. Ideal Carnation/Plant for 10cm pot culture. For a good mixture of colours the larger packet or Bulk seed is required.

The cultural information should be used as a guide only, I have found a number of different sowing techniques for the same seed from different sources there does not seem to be a standard. With this in mind you should use this website as a guide only, you probably already have a tried and tested way of sowing different seeds. As a rule of thumb the larger the seed size the more cover it requires, and fine seed like Lobelia Begonia etc requires no cover.
