Trachelium Passion in Violet F1 hybrid
Violet umbels of flower up to 20cms. Pinching is not necessary as plants have a basal branching habit. Specially bred for pot and bedding use, the plants grow to a height of 30cm.

Sow October to November in a cold frame The cold winter months help to break the seed dormancy, or cold stratify by sowing seeds for up to 4 weeks and then refrigerate for 4-6 weeks, return to heat to germinate. This seed can take a long time to germinate.
Border or cut flower use. Showy flowers on long stems. Grow in moist fertile soil in sun or partial shade.

Sow all year, as soon as seed received. Sow in pots or containers, cover seed, prevent compost drying out place in shady cold frame or part of the garden. Germination over 3 months for shoot to appear.

Bright scarlet flowers, which are followed by bright blue berries. A twining climber with attractive mid green, lobed foliage. Flowers from early summer. Advice; Grow in humus rich moist soil in full sun to partial shade with the roots and lower stems in cool shade. Prefers a neutral to acid soil.

The cultural information should be used as a guide only, I have found a number of different sowing techniques for the same seed from different sources there does not seem to be a standard. With this in mind you should use this website as a guide only, you probably already have a tried and tested way of sowing different seeds. As a rule of thumb the larger the seed size the more cover it requires, and fine seed like Lobelia Begonia etc requires no cover.
