Low-Growing wild flower mixture WFM 21078
Approx weight 3 gram
Sow 0.5-1gram per sq metre
This mixture is ideal for creating an ornamental bed. Many of the species included are suitable for growing in a rock garden or at the edge of a border.
Species included :-
Birdes-foot-Trefoil, Bugle, Campion, Celandine,Centaury common, Cinquefoil Creeping, Cowslip, Dog-Violet, Fleabane, Harebell, Hawkweed, Oxlip, Pansy, Pimpernel, Primrose, Rock-Rose, St Johns Wort, Sheeps Bit, Speedwell, Spurrey, Wild Strawberry, Thrift, Thyme, Vetch and sweet Violet.
Culture :-
Carefully prepare a fine, weed free seed bed (and keep bed weed free by hoeing) Take care to sow the seed at the recommended rate. Thoroughly mix one part seed with nine parts sand makes it easier to sow the seed.
Rake the seed in lightly with a spring tined rake and firm the soil by treading or rolling. Water with a fine spray to avoid disturbing the surface of the soil. Keep the area well watered and free from grass and weeds.
Once germinated thin as required.

Low To Medium Height Butterfly Nectar Plants WFM 21080

Sow 0.5 to 1 gram per sq metre
A balanced seed mixture of colourful annual, biennial and perennial, native wild flowers of mixed heights and flowering periods. Specially formulated for Butterfly conservation, it contains many beautiful wild flowers which are especially attractive to Butterflies as sources of Nectar (food). Some species are also of value as food plants for certain caterpillars.
It is intended to be sown without a grass seed mixture onto prepared ground, and is particularly suitable for creating a permanent 'Ornamental' bed of plants with mixed heights and flowering times.

Ladys Bedstraw, Betony, Birds-Foot-Trefoil, Common Bugle, Meadow Buttercup, Wild Candytuft, Red Clover, Colt's Foot, Daisy, Oxeye daisy, Dandelion, dead-Nettle, Feverfew, Autumn and rough Hawkbit, Hawkweed, Knapweed, Corn Marigold, Wild Marjoram, Wild Pansy, Primrose, Ragged Robin, Common Rockrose, St Johns Wort, Small Scabious, Selfheal, Sheeps-Bit, Thrift, Common Toadflax, Lesser Trefoil, Kindney and Horseshoe Vetch, Sweet Violet, Yarrow.
Cultural information:-
Best sown late March to late May, or early August to mid September. If sowing after 1st June ensure seed bed is kept well watered.
If possible choose a weed free site with fertile soil. Organic or inorganic fertilizer can be used both before and after sowing (and the years to follow).
Sprinkle the seed very thinly onto the prepared seed bed.
Lightly rake the seed in and firm and water thoroughly.
Keep seedlings well watered until they are established.
Thin the seedlings as necessary, using the thinnings for other areas of the garden.
Ensure the site is kept free from unwanted plants or grass.
