H annual / Biennial Centaurium erythraea - Common Centaury, Feverwort Centaury has delicate pink flowers that only open when the sun shines. In the middle ages it was known as Feverwort. Medicinally is a tonic for the digestive system, used internally, purifies the blood, for kidney, jaundice and other complaints and is often combined with other herbs. A yellow-green dye from the flowers. Sow Centaury from early spring in situ, prefers a sandy soil in full sun. Native habitat normally grows in poor soil in dry grassland or edge of woodlands.

Perennial Anthemis tinctoria - Golden Marguerite, Ox-eye Chamomile Yellow daisy like flowers, was once used strewn over floors for their aroma and to ward off fleas! Dyer's Chamomile provides a yellow die from the flowers, spent flowers and flower buds. Medicinal properties are not used nowadays.

Chamomile Lawn Perennial Anthemis nobilis - Camomile, English Chamomile, Garden Dogfennel, Perennial Chamomile, Roman Chamomile Evergreen. Coffea

Yellowing of leaves is a sign of being pot bound. Fertilize monthly during winter and every 2 weeks throughout the growing season. Best sown 2 seeds to a 7cm pot, pre soak overnight and the outer parchment shell should be carefully removed and seed sown just below the compost surface, keep compost moist but not wet throughout germination, which is slow up to 50+ days and erratic so do not discard pots too early. This is surely worth a try for something different.

The cultural information should be
used as a guide only, I have found a number of different sowing techniques for
the same seed from different sources there does not seem to be a standard. With
this in mind you should use this website as a guide only, you probably already
have a tried and tested way of sowing different seeds. As a rule of thumb the
larger the seed size the more cover it requires, and fine seed like Lobelia
Begonia etc requires no cover.
