It has been very cold and wet this month in the garden so we
have been working inside the school in the garden club area. Located beside the girls toilets!
Fara’s report
This month we did some planting. I put some spinach inside my pot. We are making a calendar to sell at Parents’
night to raise money to go to Gardening Scotland 2011.
I am looking forward to doing more planting at garden club and
learning the plants names.
Stephen’s report
This month we have been making a calendar, my
month is November.
I like getting messy at garden club, and I
also like telling the school what we do at garden club at assembly.
Here is a picture of Tod and Harry that Sonny
has drawn for the calendar.

Tod is a tortoise and is the Tuesday group
mascot. Harry is a hedgehog and is the
Thursday group mascot.
Morrison’s Vouchers

We have just finished collecting Morrisons’
vouchers. So far we have 1130 which is
almost enough to get a raised timber bed for the front of the school and a
wheelbarrow. We hope to have all the
vouchers collected and counted by the end of next week as we have to order the
vouchers by the end of November. We want
to say a big thank you to everyone who has collected vouchers for us. Mrs Smith who is the Primary 5 teacher
collected lots and lots of vouchers for us.
Daffodil planting
Primary 1a have been learning about growing
things. Their teacher Mrs Aktar asked the
garden club if they could come and help the children plant some daffodil
bulbs.

Here are two children from Primary 1a busy
planting their bulbs. We will help to look after them and hope to see them grow
and flower in February.
Here is
Daniel’s drawing of a daffodil.
Here is a report by Unzla, Fara and Win Kee
in Primary 7 about helping Primary 1 to plant bulbs.
We put the bulbs in the pots but we didn’t
plant them, we got another tray and put compost in it. Then we got plastic sticks with points on it
and put them in the pots and took them to Mrs Aktar’s class. Then we helped the small children put the
compost in the pots and plant the bulbs.
It was fun!

Meryem’s report
Gardening
Club is a wonderful club to be in. Its
fun for lots of reasons! The people who
go to gardening club love it. What we do
is plant bulbs, pull weeds out, build bird houses, make calendars and all sorts
of things. The reason why I joined the
gardening club was because I love gardening and my Mum, Hilary loves it
too. My Mum and I give lots of herbs and
all sort of stuff to Heather and the garden club and I hope they will take care
of the herbs. Sannah also bought Heather
some pepper seeds.
Eli’s report

Eli
coloured in this picture of a bluebell.
Her Grandad very kindly gave us some bluebells to plant in our garden.
Thomas’s report

I
like meeting my friends at garden club.
I enjoyed making the garden club calendar. This month we have been planting seeds and
harvesting fruit and vegetables. I am
looking forward to planting in the spring time.
