Silver Birch Tree.
Conical shaped tree with a peeling white bark, pendula branches on mature trees, leaves turn yellow in autumn. Yellow-brown catkins early spring. A medicinal herb used internally for arthritis, cystitis, kidney stones and fevers. Beer wine and vinegar can be made from fermenting the sap. Magical properties include purification, protection and exorcism. Suitable for many bonsai tree styles. RHS Award of Garden Merit
