Water Avens flowers may to September. The herb has similar properties to Herb Bennet although weaker. Roots fresh are boiled to produce a chocolate like drink. The root contains tannin and antiseptic substances. Makes a good ground cover plant. Has many medicinal uses. Sow autumn in cold frame. Grow in moist soil in full sun or well drained soil in partial shade.
General Sowing information: Herb seeds can be sown from early spring onwards, when the ground has warmed up they can be direct sown. All herbs come complete with germination instructions.
