Mugwort prefers a sunny site in moist soil. All parts of the plant can be used either fresh or dried. Flowers were once used to flavour beer. Aids digestion, used in herbal tobaccos also in stuffing's in fatty meats. Used as an insect repellant. In Japan Mugwort is used as a potherb. A weak tea can be used as a multi-purpose insecticide! An important herb in the times of the Druids and Anglo-Saxons as one of the nine herbs used to repel evil and poisons. Known as the mother of herbs it was used in witchcraft and fertility rites. Magical herb powers include astral projection, healing, protection, prophetic dreams and strength.
General Sowing information: Herb seeds can be sown from early spring onwards, when the ground has warmed up they can be direct sown. All herbs come complete with germination instructions.
