Carthamus - Safflower
Yellow Flowered. Widely used for food colouring, medicinal, culinary, herbal dyestuffs and cosmetic uses. An oil from the seed is used in salad dressings, the young leaves can be used cooked or raw. the plant prefers full sun.

General Sowing information: Herb seeds can be sown from early spring onwards, when the ground has warmed up they can be direct sown. All herbs come complete with germination instructions.
