A guide to producing a fuchsia hanging basket

  • These are best produced from new plants.

  • Select the size of basket you require and as a guide :-
10" basket you will need 3 trailing Fuchsia.
12" basket you will need 4 trailing Fuchsia.
14" basket you will need 5 trailing Fuchsia.

  • Add slow release fertilizer and water retention granules to your basket.

  • The best baskets are produced using one type of fuchsia.

  • The fuchsia should be stopped at 3 pairs of leaves prior to planting up the basket.

  • Plant all the fuchsia at an angle of aprox 45 degrees over the rim of the basket.

  • Pinch out the side shoots at 3 pairs of leaves and continue untill you have pinched out at least 3 times.

  • Feed the basket little and often as this will produce better results than feeding once a week even if you have added slow release fertilizer.
